The York Ebor Festival 2013
20th – 23rd August 2013
The York Ebor Festival was first established back in 1843. It is a flat-race horseracing festival held annually over four days in August at the famous York racecourse. Being so late on in the season this event is the pinnacle of the flat racing season and therefore attracts race goers from all over the UK and overseas.
VIP Event Butler are proud to offer stunning hospitality packages in the best facilities available at York Racecourse, aimed at making your day a memorable one for you and your guests.
The festival started in 1843 in-line with the running of the first Ebor Handicap and has now evolved into a massive, well supported horseracing event which includes three top grade races. The Juddmonte International, the Yorkshire Oaks and the Nunthorpe Stakes are the top three features which take place on the first three days before the world famous Ebor Handicap. This event is saved until the final day of the festival.
The first day sees York’s richest race, The Juddmonte International, take centre stage. This race is always exciting and has had some very big name winners in the past including; Twice Over, Rip Van Winkle and Sea The Stars.
Day two of The Ebor Festival is Ladies Day with the big race being the Yorkshire Oaks, which boasts some fine winners in the past such as Sun Princess, Islington and Midday.
Day three’s big race to feature is the Nunthorpe Stakes which takes less than a minute to complete due its short length however is arguably the most exciting race of the meeting.
The headline act takes place on the final day of the meeting and is the reason why York Festival has risen to the heights it has. The Ebor is over one mile and six furlongs in length making it a daunting challenge for those involved.
VIP Event Butler are offering two of the finest hospitality facilities at York Racecourse so you and your guests can soak up the atmosphere created in this 33,000 capacity arena, watch some of the best horseracing of the year, and enjoy some wonderful catering and service all at the same time.
